Welcome new faculty member of CECA: Prof. Fan Ye!
Dr. Fan Ye received his B.E. and M.S. in Automation and Computer Science from Tsinghua University in 1996 and 1999, and Ph.D. in Computer Science from UCLA CS department in 2004. He was a Research Staff Member in IBM T. J. Watson Research Center from 2004 to 2013 before joining PKU CECA in March, 2013. Dr. Ye produced several pieces of pioneering and widely cited work in data delivery, energy conservation and security in wireless sensor networks. During his employment at IBM he made important contributions to messaging services in wide area networks and for the cloud, high availability and cooperative paradigm in stream processing systems. He has produced over 40 publications, 17 patents (applications and granted). He has served on the editorial board of two international journals, been a panelist several times reviewing research proposals for US NSF and Hong Kong government, served as TPC member or reviewer for many international conferences and journals. He was the Chair of the Mobile Computing Professional Interest Community of IBM Watson Research during 2010-2011. He has received the best paper award of 2008 International Conference on Parallel Computing, IBM Research Division Award, and 4 IBM Invention Plateau awards. His papers have been cited more than 4000 times according to Google Scholar.
